Hey Friends!
So my Christmas Break was wonderful and relaxing but school has started back up and there is no slowly getting settled into things. I get the feeling that this semester is going to be intense being enrolled in 7 classes again. However, I know it will go by quickly and I am excited for the amount of growth and the new relationships that will be made throughout this next semester.
Our first meeting of the semester for this exciting trip to Uganda is on Sunday, so hopefully we will find out more of the details and logistics of what we will be doing throughout our time in Uganda so I can keep you updated.
Over Christmas Break I was getting really discouraged. It’s funny how one person can have such a huge impact on you and be so discouraging. For the sake of keeping the anomominity of this person, I’m leaving out names, however, I was extremely frustrated after being constantly discouraged about the reasons why I am going to Uganda, was told there was no way I was going to be able to raise the amount of money I would need, and was even told to take a machine gun with me in order to kill anyone that is different from me (to put it nicely). I was so heartbroken; that someone I know who I feel like should support me would say such awful things about something I am so passionate about. However, I stood up for what I believed in and constantly prayed that God would give me strength and I would not be discouraged, that I would be filled with an abundance of his love in order to share it with all the Ugandan people that I love so much! I also prayed that I would continue to get donations and support from people in order to live out his plan for me!
This last week was just what I needed and has been so encouraging! I had an abundance of support letters waiting for me back at school and have continued to get at least 1 letter every day this week! In only 1 month, I have a third of my trip paid for without any extra fundraising and I couldn’t be more blessed! I am so so sooo very thankful for the generosity of everyone around me and their willingness to support me and my efforts. Even people that I was expecting the least from have surprised me and given me the most! I am truly honored and couldn’t be happier to call you all my friends! I am truly blessed!
I will do my best to try and update this more, but the semester flies by so quickly and before I know it a month has already passed.
Thank you again for all your generosity!
Love you all!
Meg
