First Fundraiser

Hello Friends –

So these last few months have been crazy busy! School was insane juggling seven classes, all the projects I had to finish, as well as working on stuff for Uganda. I sent out all of my support letters over Thanksgiving and am already starting to get responses, which is AWESOME! So far, I have about $500 raised towards my trip. I was starting to feel discouraged at one point as I would check my mail, and was constantly seeing others receive support letters, yet time and time again, there would be nothing in my mail box. So, I prayed that God would calm my nerves and reassure me that I would receive the funds I needed. Everything so far has been in his hands and I know he will provide, but I just needed a little reassurance. Well, the next day, I went to check my mail, only to find 3 support letters waiting for me, totaling $230!

Our team is currently in the middle of our first fundraiser. We are currently partnering with OmniPeace, which is a humanitarian fashion brand that donates 25% of their profits to charities promoting peace, education, human rights, and the end of extreme poverty in Africa by 2025. They design shirts and other apparel to share the message about poverty in Africa. To date the company has raised over half a million dollars for charities that support their mission, built a school in Senegal and is currently working with UNICEF & the V-Day Foundation to build the City of Joy, a healing center and safe community for Congolese women and girls

So what does this mean?! Our team is selling the OmniPeace t-shirts, which not only helps out OmniPeace but also the efforts of funding our trip to Kampala, Uganda. Each shirt can be purchased for either $20 or $25 and come in sizes: Small, Medium, Large, X-Large, and 2X-Large. If you would like to purchase a t-shirt, please contact myself at megan.fuehrer@student.indwes.edu!
